Bombshell: ‘Star Trek’ Actor Accuses Hollywood Legend Kevin Spacey of ‘Making an Advance’ When He Was 14

Even when the Harvey Weinstein scandal first broke, everyone knew it wasn’t just him. As more and more dirt came out, more and more allegations were made, and more and more names were added to the pile.

Some were outed as serial predators or abusers, others as their enablers — who knew and did nothing — and the group that continues to expand exponentially, their innocent victims.

But just as the scandal was picking up speed, “Westworld” actress Evan Rachel Wood predicted that the next “dam to break” would be the other “open secret” — the one that actor Corey Feldman has been speaking out about for decades — the adult men in Hollywood who prey on young boys.

The first to make such an accusation is “Star Trek: Discovery” actor Anthony Rapp. And the man who he says “made an advance” toward him is Hollywood legend, Kevin Spacey.

Rapp told BuzzFeed news that he was just 14 at the time, and because he was already working steadily as an actor, he was accustomed to attending parties where most of the other attendees were adults — so attending a party in Spacey’s home where he was the only teenager did not leave him feeling uncomfortable, just bored.

But then the party ended, and Spacey came into the bedroom where Rapp had been watching television:

“My memory was that I thought, Oh, everybody’s gone. Well, yeah, I should probably go home,” Rapp said. Spacey, he recalled, “sort of stood in the doorway, kind of swaying. My impression when he came in the room was that he was drunk.” Rapp doesn’t remember Spacey saying anything to him. Instead, Rapp said, “He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold. But I don’t, like, squirm away initially, because I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then he lays down on top of me.”

“He was trying to seduce me,” Rapp said. “I don’t know if I would have used that language. But I was aware that he was trying to get with me sexually.”

Rapp recalled this all happening — Spacey appearing at the door, coming into the room, picking him up, and putting him on the bed — in one clumsy action, with Spacey landing at a slight angle on top of him. He said Spacey “was, like, pressing into me,” and that he remembers Spacey “tightening his arms.” But while he can’t recall exactly how long Spacey remained on top of him, Rapp said he was able to “squirm” away after a short period.

When Rapp got up to leave, aside from asking if he was sure he wanted to go, Spacey allegedly did not press the issue:

As he walked home, “My head was spinning,” Rapp said. “I have a memory of turning around and [thinking], What was that? What am I supposed to do with it? What does it mean?”

He paused. “The older I get, and the more I know, I feel very fortunate that something worse didn’t happen,” he said. “And at the same time, the older I get, the more I can’t believe it. I could never imagine [that] anyone else I know would do something like that to a 14-year-old boy.”

Rapp said that he never told his mother or anyone else about that night. And over the years, he has encountered Spacey — both onscreen and in person — which has resulted in a secondary trauma.

He explained to BuzzFeed that his reason for finally coming forward was simple: “not to simply air a grievance, but to try to shine another light on the decades of behavior that have been allowed to continue because many people, including myself, being silent. … I’m feeling really awake to the moment that we’re living in, and I’m hopeful that this can make a difference.”
